The film’s original Chinese title derives from a song of the same name by Zhou Xuan from a 1946 film. The English title derives from a Bryan Ferry cover of the song “I’m in the Mood for Love” that is also used in the film.

The movie forms the second part of an informal trilogy, together with the first part Days of Being Wild (released in 1991) and the last part 2046 (released in 2004).

The film holds the top spot on They Shoot Pictures Don’t They list of The 21st Century’s Most Acclaimed Films and the 317th spot on The 1,000 Greatest Films

Jakarta – Berdasarkan studi yang dilakukan terus menerus, kini psikolog mengungkapkan sebuah penyakit baru terkait dengan perilaku kecanduan internet.

Menurut studi, para penderita terindikasi ketergantungan internet ini menyandang ‘penyakit’ baru dengan istilah ‘Discomgoogolation’, yang didefinisikan sebagai perasaan stress dan kegelisahan saat tak bisa segera terhubung dengan akses informasi cepat.

Discomgoogolation sendiri merupakan gabungan dari Discombobulate yang artinya frustasi atau bingung. Sementara kata ‘googolation’ konon diambil dari istilah googling atau mencari informasi lewat mesin pencari Google.

“Kemudahan yang ditawarkan dunia broadband telah menciptakan budaya baru yaitu jawaban instan (melalui mesin cari di internet). Sebuah galaksi informasi yang hanya perlu satu kali klik, dan membuat manusia sangat tergantung,” ujar psikolog, Dr. David Lewis, seperti dikutip detikINET dari berbagai sumber, Minggu (7/9/2008).

Labih lanjut menurut Dr.Lewis, efek fisik yang ditimbulkan dari Discomgoogolation ini juga tak main-main. “Cukup mengejutkan melihat efek stress yang dibawa penyakit ini — aktivitas otak dan tekanan darah meningkat karena terisolir dari internet,” tandasnya.
